The Novak Barn was constructed by Dr. E. E. Novak in 1921.  Dr. Novak owned and operated Redvue Farms, breeders of Red Polled cattle, in New Prague, MN for half a century, and received national and international recognition as a breeder of Red Polled cattle.  He operated a medical practice in New Prague for over 60 years; he was one of the founders of the local creamery, and the principal promoter of the local livestock show.  He was instrumental in establishing Minnesota Valley Breeders in New Prague, which eventually created the spin off company Minnesota Valley Engineering (now known as Chart Industries), which is currently one of the largest employers in the City of New Prague.  Dr. Novak was an extremely important figure in the history of New Prague.
